A reggae steppas anthem featuring NZ/Aotearoa Singjay Rubi Du. ‘LockUp’ deals with worldwide pressures endured by so many righ now. This uplifting, conscious roots tune raises the sprit in these troubled times. Produced by stranded UK bass legend Rob Smith (Smith&Mighty/RSD) this Ep includes heavy remixes from Bukkha, Dub Terminator, plus a bonus jungle re-work ‘Dreadtime’ from RSD.

Born and raised in Auckland NZ and of Jamaican and Samoan heritage, Rubi Du (AKA Silva MC) spent her earliest years exposed to Sound System culture and live bands through her parents involvement in the 12 Tribes Rasta movement. With her sultry voice and hard hitting chat, Rubi mashes up Reggae, Dancehall and Hip Hop consistently and consciously, all the while staying true to her Jamaican/Samoan roots.

Bukkha, originally from Louisiana USA and now based in Spain, has been a vital and influential producer for more than a decade in the Reggae-Dubstep realm with an impressive discography including releases for Moonshine records and US-based Dub- Stuy Records with his original work and remixes receiving support from artists such as Mala, J:Kenzo, N-Type and reggae legends King Shiloh and Channel One.

One of NZ’s top underground bass music producers, Dub Terminator brings his unique take on roots flavoured dubstep and future style reggae to this release. Dub Terminator has been producing for over 15 years working with artists such as Gappy Ranks, Anthony B, Conroy Smith and Dubmatix to name a few.
